Invisalign

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is proven technology designed to give you the smile you’ve always wanted, without the pain and anxiety associated with metal braces. Unlike conventional metal braces, Invisalign® uses a series of high-grade clear plastic trays, called aligners, which fit comfortably over your teeth. The aligners, which are virtually invisible, are designed to move the teeth gradually into their desired position by changing the aligners every two weeks.

The trays are worn all of the time except when you eat and brush & floss your teeth.

How long does Invisalign take?

An average Invisalign course of treatment takes about 1 year. However, since the aligners are clear, you’ll see improvements in your smile long before you treatment is completed. About every two months, you’ll receive a new set of custom-molded clear aligners to continue the straightening process. The total number of clear aligners is specific to you, determined by the doctor for your course of treatment

How will Invisalign affect my lifestyle?

Because Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners to position and straightens teeth, you can keep your active lifestyle during treatment. Unlike braces, Invisalign aligners have no metal bands or wires to irritate your mouth. So go ahead and be as active as you like! You do not need to be concerned about your speech. Patients adapt to having the aligners in their mouth in about 1-2 weeks, and their speech is absolutely perfect.

How do I get started?

When you decide you are ready to start Invisalign, you will come into the office for a 1-hour diagnostic appointment. The doctor will take molds and photos of your teeth. This information will be sent to Invisalign to be scanned into their software. After careful evaluation and treatment planning, the doctor will design your case. You will return to the office about 1 month later to start your treatment!

If you are thinking about Invisalign, come into our office for a consultation with Dr. Levine. She will be able to answer any questions or concerns you may have about the process.
